IPMVP is sponsored by the Efficiency Valuation Organization (EVO), a nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to developing tools for the Measurement and Verification (M&V) that allow the promotion of energy efficiency.
Is a standard protocol to quantify the results of investments in energy efficiency through the implementation of an M&V plan. It is an internationally recognised method to quatify the savings and provide confidence to those who wait to make a profit by implementing an energy management program. By following the recommendations of the IPMVP, this Measurement and Verification activities can lead to reliable savings reports.
The IPMVP is very important when performing en energy performance contract (EPC), because by the Mesurement and Verification ir can be proved that savings will be obtained through the implementation of measures for improving energy efficiency by an independent agent. This aspect is crucial to both, an ESCO and for those customers who need guarantees of actual performance of the implemented measures.
